Andre and I have understanding families. Well, it’s the same family more or less. We’re brothers-in-law. There was no resistance to our going for a 3-hour ride on Father’s Day. So we did.
Our plan was to have lunch at Port Waikato on the West Coast and return for afternoon to back in Howick. Our route took us through some of our favourite roads, glorious backroads with endless corners over the Whitford and Hunua hills to Bombay, then on through Tuakau to Port Waikato. We are very lucky to have these B-roads so close to a city of 1.5 million, and the further you go north and particularly south in New Zealand, the better the roads and scenery.
We are trying out GoPro cameras (thanks Jono) and our video is from both bikes, mine mounted on the front fairing of the BMW K1200s and Andre’s on the tank of his Honda Blackbird. Andre ran out of memory so there is more from the BMW. The video is of the Howick to Bombay section of the ride. We hope you enjoy watching this 45 minute ride compressed into 11 minutes, as much as we enjoyed the ride itself.
Hey Dad, looks like a great ride. Glad you got to enjoy that on Fathers Day. Nic xx
That’s very cool Max – makes me want to go for a ride right now, only issue being it’s dark, raining and none of my bikes are legal right now 😦
